Mercurius Solubilis is characterized by profuse salivation, offensive breath, swollen and tender gums, and a moist, coated tongue. The mouth may be sore and ulcerated, with increased saliva and a metallic or unpleasant taste.

There may be a strong tendency to perspire without obtaining relief from the symptoms. Symptoms are often accompanied by weakness, trembling and sensitivity to changes in temperature.

The remedy is associated with throat inflammation, difficulty swallowing, swollen tonsils and a sensation of burning or soreness in the throat.

Digestive symptoms may include nausea, abdominal discomfort and loose, offensive stools. The stools may be accompanied by considerable straining and weakness.
